You will do very well to shop around as the price of a brake and light inspection can vary greatly. The only fixed cost the shop has is the cost of the California Brake and Lamp Inspection Certificate which costs only $7, the rest of the cost is labor. We have found that prices vary from $60-120 for a brake and light inspection and certificate and this cost is negotiable at some shops.
